Special Pastoral Message on Immigration by the Bishops of the United States
by USCCB | 11/13/2025 |Good afternoon,
We want to let you know that the Bishops of the United States yesterday issued a special pastoral message on immigration.
Archbishop Henning participated in the drafting of the statement and also appears in the video released by the USCCB (links below).
This statement is getting picked up by news outlets across the United States including here in the Commonwealth. We will include this in our media summary tomorrow, but because of the news reports today we wanted to make sure that you were aware sooner rather than later.
From the USCCB:
Special Pastoral Message on Immigration by the Bishops of the United States
On November 12, 2025, and for the first time in 12 years, the U.S. bishops issued a Special Message addressing their concern for the evolving situation impacting immigrants in the United States. Collectively, the bishops have invoked this particularly urgent way of speaking as a body of bishops.
Here, some of those bishops come together to give voice to the message, which advocates for a meaningful reform of immigration laws and the recognition of the fundamental dignity of all persons, including immigrants.
