FIRST PENANCE and FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

First Penance Service  Date and Time : 2025. We ask that one parent/guardian remain with the child during the service. After they have made their individual Confession and said their prayers, the children may then leave. Please no food or drink in the Church.

First Holy Communion Celebration  Date and Time : 2025.  This is a morning Mass for First Communion Families. The families of Religious Education and Our Lady’s Academy celebrate First Holy Communion together.

First Holy Communion Rehearsal Date and Time : 2025.

The dates/times of First Penance Service, First Holy Communion Rehearsal and First Holy Communion are subject to change.

Dress Code

Boys may wear the traditional white communion suit, however this is not required. They may wear a suit of another color or dress pants, shirt and tie.

Girls may wear the traditional white communion dress with the veil. The veil is not required – they may wear a headband, some small flowers or any other appropriate hair accessory or nothing instead of the veil. Girls cannot wear gloves and neither boys nor girls may carry rosaries. Hands must be bare and empty to receive the Host.  Please do not have your child where a rosary around their neck.

Photographer

A professional photographer will take an individual picture of each child as they receive their First Holy Communion which will be digitally sent to each family. We ask that no photos be taken during the Mass at all.
